Borreliosis is more than Just Lyme disease

In the strictest sense Lyme disease is caused only by the genospecies Borrelia burgdorferi, but clearly this devastating disease is part of a much larger class of Borrelia infections known as Relapsing Fevers.

Since the genus Borrelia is prone to such tremendous variation ( by programmed genetic plasmid gene insertions into the bacterium's larger linear chromosome) we can expect all Borrelia infections to be variable and unpredictable and difficult to test for, diagnose and treat.

The medical community needs to stop calling Lyme disease "LYME" simply because the medical health community can say cases of Borreliosis are not "LYME", as they have tried with Borrelia lonestarrii in Missouri.

Are any spirochetes inside the human brain acceptable?

Borreliosis is our worldwide culprit that is found in many tick species, and can range from deadly (Borrelia duttonii and Borrelia crocidurae)  to lesser infections like Borrelia ornithidoris. But we are playing semantics with patient's lives.

Life threatening Borreliosis infections include more than just Lyme disease.

Will the case of Borreliosis in the Australian who died of an MS-like illness be called "Not Lyme" simply because it is a variation of Borrelia and not strictly Borrelia burgdorferi?  We will see if semantics prevails over humanity and science?
